The Legendary Icons of the 80s

Yesterday, THR Raga morning crew picked up my all time favorite topic, CARTOONS. I am a cartoon freak. Cartoon is part of my life. Unlike nowadays, growing in the 80s, there were hardly any kids or teenage sitcom nor real actor or actress. Hence, my icon has always been hand drawn and painted with crayon/pencil/chalks. I was so crazy about cartoons, their characters and their peppy catch phrases like Fred Flinstones’ "Yabba-Dabba-Doo", Speedy Gonzales’ "Ándale! Ándale! Arriba! Arriba", Bugs Bunny’s “What up Doc!”, Road Runner’s “Beep! Beep!” and etc, i would wake up as early as 8 a.m. to watch them on TV 2 and later on fight for 5.30 p.m show on TV3 that views in line with TV 2's Tamil news. Sigh! My obsession for cartoons was so bizarre, my uncle nick named me Cartoon Girl. Hence, i grew up labeling myself as TV addict till one fine day upon discussion with my friends, i soon realised almost everyone grew up in the 80s did the same thing.

Among my all time favorite cartoons were the Flintstones, Jetsons, My Little Pony and Friends, Yogi Bear and Friends, Care Bears, Jems, Dungeon and Dragon, Thundercats, Voltron, Transformers, Smurfs, Garfield, Heathcliff, Pink Panther, Inspector Gadget , Archie, Denise the Menace, Snoopy and Charlie Brown, Tom and Jerry, Felix, Mighty Mouse, Danger Mouse, Super Granny, Looney Tunes (Bungs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Tasmania, Tweety Bird, Road Runner, Sylvester, Speedy Gonzales), Disney (Mickey, Donald, Goofy, Pluto and Chip & Dale) , He man, Scooby Doo and etc.

However, i still have my favorites .....

How about you guys?
