Koffee with Travel Boots : Surviving Sarawak!

Travel boots and her sister traveled to Sarawak for 10 days at the cost of RM1, 371.23 per person including flight, shopping and guides fees all park entrance. Wonder how? Here are the 5 important tips by Travel Boots:

1. Motto:
“To see beyond the world, in short period of time, budgeted”

2.Must have things (packing for 10 days):
- Food such as Musli, nestum, coffee, lemon tea for ten days and
Maggie/3 in food for jungle
- Cutleries including knife (as it has multi purpose) and mess tin
- One jeans
- One thin khaki pants/long pants (for cold nights)
- One shorts (for sleeping)
- Sweat pants (if trekking)
- Swimming gear
- Five t-shirt
- Undergarments enough to survive without washing
- One small light towel
- Sarong
- First aid kit
- Trekking shoe and 2 pair socks
- Slippers
- Windbreaker/jacket/shawls
- Toiletries
- First aid kit (must include insect repellent and deep heat)
- Headlight
- Gloves (if trekking)
- Small bag to walk around
- Extra foldable bag (for shopping)
- Lonely planet/traveling guide/notes/maps

3. Rule of Thumb for Backpacking:

1. Travel with someone as kiasu as you
2. Stock enough musli and lemon tea for traveling period
3. Walk or take bus- the more you walk, the more you see,
the more you meet people, the cheaper your cost
4. Frequents visit to Tourist Visitors Center till they know you by hard
5. Wear same cloth whole day- less washing and easy to identify
places traveled in a day based on photographs taken
6. Take night bus to save room cost or sleep at the airport
7. Never leave room with out map in you hand and lonely planet/rough
guide/broachers in your bag

4.Rule of Thumb for Climbing:

1. Wake up early to avoid sun light and to be back before sunset/dark
2. Always pack Musli, energy bar/chocolates and lemon tea
3. When you see flat ground, run/walk really fast to make journey short
4. Apply deep heat all over the body after the climb
5. Have good meal after the climb
*in between one and two, is another tips that we always fail to follow: eat enough to survive trekking, bring enough food/water to avoid hunger
5. Pray guardian angel will be by your sight all the way!
