SOLO BACKPACKING- discovering sabah City Tour

Day 4: 21 Jully 2008
Rain rain go away...

We woke up very early as our bus back to KK was scheduled at 7.30 a.m. Unfortunately the bus only arrived at 7.45 a.m. The journey back as estimated 9 hours again, meaning we should be arriving at Inanam bus stop at about 4 30 p.m. but Pak Cik Samsir told us that the bus will reached about 2 and he will pick us at the airport for city tour. Nevertheless, at p.m. were still at Ranau. Send him a message but no reply. I was very scared that he might have cheated us and kept on cursing him. Worst still, half way back home, its started to pour heavily.

Finally at about 4.15 p.m. we arrived at Inanam bus stop. And to my surprise he was actually waiting for us. He quickly took our bag and we headed for our city tour in pouring rain. First stop was the Puh Toh Tze at Tuaran Road.

The temple was different form what i have seen before and was simply amazing. It had so much Indian resemblances. From the elephants, to drums and bindi. The most amazing of all was the statues in and out of the temple. Each on was so unique in its own way. I loved it.

Our next stop was Signal Hill right at the heart of KK. The place where all old huge government quarters are located. The view from top was great. I could see all the backpackers hostel and TAR park and so on. It could have been better if actually hiked up there.

The rain never stopped and we kept to our bargain to see Atkinson Tower, the only building that survived World war II. it was just around the corner. The moment Pak Cik Samsir stopped the car, we ran out, snapped the pictures and headed back in. He must of thought we girls were really crazy.

Our third stop was St Micheal Church at Penampang. But unfortunately, he refuse to drive us there and gave a whole lot of excuses. So we decided to go to Sivan temple. He told us that he knew where the temple was but instead took to the near by Sikh temple. I argued with him, gave him all the description about the place and the temple and made him find it. He still dint manage to find it.

He simply pretended so that we will give and go home. I was mad. I made him turn back to Api-api centre in city centre, went to Jothy's Curry House, asked for the direction and made him drive there. This time he went as if he knew the place all the while. Cheeky old man!

We were both hungry but decided to get back, refreshed our self and then walk around the town. All shops was closing and it was beginning of the night market. There nothing much except for counterfeit good. So decided to end our window shopping and search for food. I manage to persuaded Guna to go for seafood. The food court was located near by Api-api centre and served delicious food. We were so satisfied and stuffed and decided to walk back to our hostel slowly enjoying the breeze. It was our last night together.
